Despite recent attempts by the UK government to improve the experiences of children in care, inequalities still exist. My PhD research involves using UK-wide administrative data to determine the cumulative incidence of being in care by characteristics (e.g. ethnicity, deprivation) and the predictive factors associated with the health, educational, and social outcomes of being in care.
