ESRC ScholarshipThere is much research on power and the state in International Relations, while recently seeing an increasing interest of bottom-up perspectives being listened to. Nevertheless, the perspectives by disabled people, particularly disabled asylum seekers, has not been sufficiently researched. There is much to learn from the Building on Yeo’s established theoretical work, I will conduct interviews with disabled asylum seekers to explore how they experience the concept of power. This will provides us a deeper understanding on the relationship of state and power and how these are all experienced in international politics from the point of view of those who have been let down by International Relations.
