Course Content and Aims
The Welsh Government offers internships to ESRC funded students through the ESRC internship scheme. These often involve working on specially commissioned research. This session will:
- outline the nature of current internships in the Welsh Government and the process through which they are set up
- provide information on the range of careers in government where research skills are helpful
Cost
- Wales DTC postgraduate social science research students, i.e. students registered at Aberystwyth, Bangor, Cardiff or Swansea Universities – free of charge.
- Non ESRC funded postgraduate social science research students registered at a UK HEI: free of charge
- Non social-science postgraduate research students: £15.00
- Staff at HEI’s, ESRC funded researchers, UK registered charities £30.00
Bookings
The session is aimed at ESRC-funded PGR students at the Universities of Aberystwyth, Bangor, Cardiff and Swansea who will have priority for places. Others are welcome to attend, space permitting. The session will be available via live stream at Aberystwyth, Bangor and Swansea, and will be recorded. Students at Aberystwyth, Bangor and Swansea can book a space through the DTC website. Students at Cardiff University can book through the UGC booking system.
