This interactive event will cover the following areas, with lots of opportunities for questions:
- The differences between the UK Parliament and UK Government
- How the UK Parliament uses research
- Contacting MPs and members of the House of Lords
- Working with Select Committees
Using Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology research into the 2014 REF case studies, these events will discuss how academics are having impact in Parliament and give practical advice and information about how to get involved. The UK Parliament was cited in 20% of case studies submitted in the 2014 REF. Parliament was cited in all four REF panels. 88% of higher education universities submitted case studies citing the UK Parliament.
