All day, Monday 23 May 2016
Place: University of Sheffield, Sheffield.
The organising committee of the new Postgraduate Forum for Science, Technology and Innovation Studies (PS-STIS) are holding an initial steering meeting, the aims of which will be:
- To introduce one another, each other’s interests, and begin to form a network of science, technology and innovation studies PhD students and early career researchers
- To set an overall agenda and remit for the forum
- To agree on an organising committee
- To agree on a provisional set of meetings and workshops
The organisers’ current thinking is that there will be a central committee who can award funding to proposals for workshops and symposia. They are therefore looking for people to join the steering meeting who have ideas about future meetings that would benefit this emerging community.
There are a limited number of places and there are limited travel subsidies available. There will be lunch and refreshments on the day.
If you would like to be a part of PF-STIS, please get in touch with Robert Meckin (r.meckin@sheffield.ac.uk) and outline what you might be able to contribute, any ideas for the forum’s agenda and if you would be able to organise or host a workshop at your institution. Please make contact before 30 April (to allow for food provision and travel subsidies can be confirmed).
