SUMMARY:Managing and Sharing Social Science Data
DESCRIPTION:This workshop includes on managing and sharing social science d
 ata includes planning\, appraising\, ingesting and documenting data. When
  it comes to dealing with the ever increasing commitments of research data
 \, the UK Data Service continues to see institutions struggle with the cha
 llenges of domain specificity\, in particular\, how to treat social scienc
 e data.\n\nIn this workshop they will showcase their collaborative support
  and training materials that are being used to support:\n\n	research suppo
 rt staff who face dealing with ensuring compliance with data management re
 sponsibilities set out in almost all research applications (as well as per
 suading them it's the right thing to do)\n	institutional repository manage
 rs now charged with appraising\, ingesting\, describing and managing socia
 l science research data created by local academics.\n\nThe day includes ha
 nds-on work.\n\nThe cost including all workshop materials plus refreshment
 s and lunch is £30 for UK Students (for UK Academic staff\, ESRC researc
 hers\, voluntary and public sectors staff it is £60\; and for commercial
