We of course know and take for granted tha t information can be produced and presented in both written and numeric fo rms\, but these are not the only ways in which you might think\, and prese nt your ideas. The position of drawing as a mode of surveying\, analysis\, thinking or reflection and communication has a long and distinguished his tory\, but is often neglected in our disciplines\, as typically social sci entists lack the skills to properly engage with the techniques and the opp ortunities that they allow. Does this lack of an ability to draw or repres ent ideas visually condition the way you think about things? We think that it does. Could working graphically encourage us to reconsider how we thin k about our interests and concerns through writing\, photography\, or use of audio and film evidence? We think that it could. This workshop will pro voke you to redress this situation in relation to your own research intere sts\, and encourage you to explore graphic ways of working.\n\nThe worksho p will introduce you to different types of drawing technique and reflect o n where and how they have in the past been\, and might in the future be us ed in research.
