All day, Friday 30 October 2015 - Sunday 1 November 2015

Place: The University of Kent, Canterbury.

“Repositioning The Social At The Heart Of The Anthropocene: A Transdisciplinary Dialogue” will bring together international pre and post-doctoral researchers to stimulate critical engagement with the anthropocene. The anthropocene is a contested new (social)geological age in which anthropogenic activities have become the major driver impacting the Earth System.

This symposium is aimed at research students and scholars across the humanities, social sciences, and earth sciences who wish to foster transdisciplinarity to a more critical, effective, and essential engagement with the social challenges of the ‘anthropocene’.

Registration and refreshments are free to accepted delegates, and the organisers can offer some assistance towards travel costs. Full details of the symposium, including keynote descriptions, paper abstracts, and the programme, can be viewed on the event’s page at the Kent University website.
