We are excited to announce a new call for Welsh Government internships.

We have a number of opportunities available, starting in summer 2018 (exact date negotiable). We now encourage interested ESRC Wales or South West Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP) funded PhD students to read through the internship call. Interested students should first discuss this opportunity and its timing with their supervisor, and submit their applications before the deadline.

Further details for all opportunities are listed in the documents below. The contact details for each internship opportunity are displayed within these. Please note these internships are open to any ESRC Wales or South West DTP funded student except those within 3 months of the start or end of their studentship.

The internships are aimed at students with the appropriate research methods skills. In most cases, specialist knowledge of the topic area is not required or expected.

Social Research Internships at the Welsh Government

Our internships present opportunities for PhD students to work outside their university to develop a range of transferable skills, enhance their employability and gain invaluable experience of working alongside social researchers, statisticians and policy officials on analysis within government – and sometimes, with sponsored bodies.

We have three internship opportunities available to work on specific projects, to start this summer. The internships will be based in Cardiff and last for a period of 3 months full-time or the part-time equivalent.

Mae’n interniaethau yn cynnig cyfleoedd i fyfyrwyr PhD i weithio y tu allan eu prifysgol i ddatblygu amrywiaeth o sgiliau trosglwyddadwy, gwella eu cyflogadwyedd ac ennill profiad gwerthfawr o weithio ochr yn ochr ag ymchwilwyr cymdeithasol, ystadegwyr a swyddogion polisi ar ddadansoddi o fewn llywodraeth – ac weithiau, gyda’r cyrff noddedig.

Mae ein hadroddiadau interniaeth yn rhoi blas ar sut mae interniaeth yn gweithio ar gyfer y myfyrwyr.
