The Research Councils UK Policy Internship scheme provides current RCUK funded PhD students with the opportunity to spend up to three months in a non-academic organisation where they can work as part of a team involved with policy or practice development.
ESRC funded PhD students can apply under the scheme for placements at the Government Office for Science as well as six additional partner institutions which are offering placements to ESRC funded students (these are: the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, the Cabinet Office, the Home Office, Public Health England, the Scrutiny Unit and the Sentencing Council).
If successful, you will gain an extension to your ESRC award and will be able to claim for travel and accommodation costs.
Full details of all the projects open to ESRC funded students are available on the ESRC website.
Submit your application online before 4pm on the day of the deadline.
