Place: Gregynog Hall, Newtown.
This Social and Cultural Geography Research Group weekend event on ‘reading and writing social and cultural geography’ is open to all, but is primarily aimed at postgraduate researchers. The weekend will mainly consist of discussions around a series of articles from the journal Social & Cultural Geography on key concepts and debates. Routledge/Taylor & Francis will provide 14 days’ free access to journal content (and their whole geography collection) for registered participants prior to the event. There will also be panels/roundtables on publishing and early-career Q&As.
The cost for the event for for both students of the Wales DTC and other attendees is £100, which includes two nights’ accommodation and all meals and refreshments. However, to support attendance of social science research postgraduates outside the Wales DTC institutions (Aberystwyth, Bangor, Cardiff and Swansea Universities) the Wales DTC will fund up to ten bursaries worth £40 for delegates registered at another UK HEI (with delegates paying £60). Due to the limited number of bursaries, we are only able to offer these to the first ten applicants who meet conditions. See the Social and Cultural Geography Research Group website for further details.
